Ambrosia Maple

North American soft Maple with hand rubbed oil finish. 

The ambrosia fungus that causes the signature staining of Ambrosia Maple is carried in by the Ambrosia beetle as it burrows into the wood and is typically found in varieties of soft maple (i.e. silver, red, maple etc.). It is not a specific species of maple.

This is a two part linseed oil based hand-rubbed top coat that bonds on a molecular level to the cellular structure of the wood, producing a low sheen “in the wood” finish that begs to be touched.
